“Finding and keeping the best employees is the most valuable skill. I would give everything I have, all my money, just to have that skill.”

MaxieDISC® Team
Imagine the “ideal” team. What do you think would characterize such a team? What does that mean to you? Of course, such a team can mean something different to everyone. You might say that there's no such thing as an ideal team. Perhaps – it all depends on how we define that ideal. It's possible to select people who will complement each other, understand each other, and cooperate. Thanks to this, we will relatively quickly create a wonderfully functioning team. And even if it's not ideal, it will be able to notice its weaker moments and immediately implement improvements.
And besides, do we really need a perfect team? Maybe a good team is enough, one that delivers work on time, is cohesive, enjoys coming to work, and creatively overcomes any obstacles.
Imagine a team with Asia, Karolina, Adrian, Krzysiek, and Ola.
Style S
Asia (S) is someone who always takes care of relationships. She cares about having a good atmosphere in the team. She likes coming to work because she enjoys spending time with her teammates. She also wants everyone on the team to be in a good mood, which is why she makes sure there are no misunderstandings among them. She always notices when someone is in a bad mood and asks if she can help in any way. Everyone can count on Asia at any time. Even when she has a lot of tasks to do, she won't refuse help. Asia is like the team's good soul and an oasis of calm. As soon as things get hectic because deadlines are looming, Asia remembers to take a breath, a short break, and recharge so that work can be even more efficient afterward.
Style I
Karolina loves her team. As soon as she joined, she organized a team-building event to quickly bond with the team. Since then, she has regularly ensured that the team spends time together outside of work. As a result, there are no more awkward silences during coffee breaks because they have many common interests. The rest of the team enjoys coming to work because they know Karolina will always come up with something interesting and that the day won't be boring. Even when the team has to work overtime, there's no problem because Karolina usually organizes something, making the tasks immediately more enjoyable and done with a smile.
Style C
Also on the team are Arian (C) and Krzysiek (C). They usually stick together. They get along great and often exchange inside jokes about their work that the girls don't always understand, but nobody minds. The rest of the team highly values the guys for their knowledge and always reliable, conscientious preparation. If the girls are missing some information, they know who to turn to. Adrian is also great at analyzing situations, which is why whenever the team needs to make an important decision, Adrian's opinion is worth its weight in gold. He's best at assessing the risks of any changes the team wants to implement.
Style D
We also have Ola (D), who is the manager of this team. She usually makes the decisions, and if anyone on the team doesn't know what to do or how to do it, Ola is the quickest to show the way and often takes responsibility for the decision. Ola ensures that the work is delivered on time, that not only the team is satisfied, but also the client. Ola knows her team very well and knows which tasks each person is best suited for. The team values Ola for her assertiveness, negotiation skills, and ability to think quickly and logically. They know they can count on her, especially in crisis situations and when putting out fires on a daily basis.
What do you think of this band? What is your first thought after reading this description:
– ‘Sounds unrealistic!’ or perhaps: – ‘But I'd love to have a team like that!’
Sharing our experience, we can confidently admit that creating such a team is possible. Let's take a look at how to do it.
We will start with the recruitment process. In subsequent parts of this article, we will show how to use the MaxieDISC® model in further stages of team work.
Whether you're building a new team or looking for a new employee for an existing one, you can use MaxieDISC® during recruitment. This tool will not only help you check how a given candidate fits into the team, but also show whether their behavior style aligns with your organization's culture.
How to use MaxieDISC® during recruitment and team matching?
You can ask the candidate to take the DISC test (our MaxieDISC®) online before the interview. You’ll be able to analyze the report’s results to assess their fit with the team or company.
However, during the job interview, check the candidate's behavior. What is important to them, how they behave in stressful situations, etc. How can this be done? You can use ready-made solutions and tools. You can also create them yourself, or simply use appropriate questions.
Important!
However, please remember that based on a candidate's MaxieDISC® profile, you will not be able to predict their productivity at work, their suitability for a specific position, or their competence. Therefore, approach recruitment wisely and use tools and typologies consciously.
Two situations where using the MaxieDISC® report will undoubtedly be useful are:
- when you’re torn between two equally qualified and competent candidates. In that case, getting a closer look at a prospective employee’s behavior and communication style can help you make a decision. This will help you determine which of them will be a better fit for your team;
- when you know exactly what kind of personality your team is missing in order to increase its potential and strengthen synergy;
The Maxie DISC® tool is intended to help you make decisions during the recruitment process, not to serve as the sole criterion for selection.
We wish you the best of luck with your recruitment efforts!
